No reason in particular, except that this forum is based on *really* old code and the notification system is a little flakey :(
We are in the process of moving this forum to a more modern one… takes a long time to migrate all of the entries – we definitely don't want to lose any of the great content here.

I like it. When we redo the browser version, we'll be paying special attention to both the category sidebar and the reports with massive enhancements to these areas.
I'll keep this post handy when we get to that later in the year.

I like this idea – adding to our to do list.

    Hi Jman,
There isn't a way to show only spending by category on a specific day. Each day always shows all of the transactions that happened on that day. To visually see which ones came from a particular category, you can enable the category highlighting by checking all of the categories in the sidebar. If you have too many transactions to see, use the “+” icon at the far right of that row to expand the row to full height and see everything in a day.

The beauty of the reconciling assistant is that it makes things easy by importing from your bank file. However, you're right, it doesn't always match what actually happened in terms of when things happened due to some banks not posting things on weekends. Most people opt for using the bank file as truth simply because that's what matters to the bottom line. Other reconcile once or twice a week and move the items as needed using the “Mark as completed” (found by right clicking on an entry) to indicate that this item now matches the bank statement and is locked in. Others only do it manually.
Its a choice you'll need to make. I find myself in the middle group using Mark as completed and reconciling regularly.

Turned out this was still a problem when the bank entry had multiple % signs in it – now fixed.

A hassle no doubt, but you can save the xslx file as a csv then go back to your converter service.

Not yet, but updates *are* coming. We’re about to make some announcements.

Yes – you only drag over the red events that are not already on the calendar.

Yes, I think what you want to do is drag your event from the sidebar directly onto the corresponding event in your calendar. When you do that instead of creating a duplicate entry it will replace the existing entry with the updated amount.

This is on our roadmap for sure.

I checked your account – everything looks normal including the alerts. Are you still having a problem with the alerts?

For credit cards, treat it the same as a bank account. Usually a credit card will carry a negative balance (meaning you owe money) with the goal to keep it at $0.

At the moment, no there is no way to view this, although this has long been on our to -do list to re-vamp the category sidebar into something much more useful. No ETA on that yet.

Agreed. It used to do this. That functionality must have disappeared with a system upgrade.
