For, example if I have categories in $, but an account in Euros, I cannot use the $ categories.
To fix this, go into Category Setup and check the currencies and in to Account Setup and make sure the currencies match. Or, you can create more categories for your alternate currency account.
We designed it this way because we can’t have a category being used in accounts that use both $ and Euro (for example) since the currency conversion is not 1:1.Eric Poulin

We’d love to update the mobile version – there are a number of quirks about it – we just haven’t had the resources (time) to do it. It continues to be on our to-do list.
Eventually, we’d like to get to Android/iPhone version… but that’s still a ways away. For now, were sticking to the mobile web version and are looking to update that next.Eric Poulin

If you email your bank file to epoulin@calendarbudget.com, I’ll take a look and track down what’s happening.Eric Poulin
KeymasterDecember 6, 2013 at 10:28 pmPost count: 381in reply to: Bank Reconciliation Assistant Question #3989The reconciling assistant tries to match the daily balance.
If all of the entries in the reconciling assistant are green, then all of the bank entries match, but likely you have an extra entry in the calendar that did happen in reality on Nov 27.
If you remove that entry (or move it forward if it’s still valid) the reconciling assistant should be happy.Eric Poulin

Do you have any suggestions about how we can make it better?Eric Poulin

KeymasterJuly 11, 2013 at 9:27 amPost count: 381in reply to: MAKING A COPY #3975CalendarBudget is always in the cloud. There is no local copy on your computer. Your data is always stored on the CalendarBudget secure server and backed up nightly.
That way, your data is always up to date on any computer or mobile device.Eric Poulin
KeymasterJune 5, 2013 at 8:42 pmPost count: 381Hey, that’s a great idea – when reconciling, CalendarBudget could automatically mark the entry as complete.

KeymasterJune 5, 2013 at 8:37 pmPost count: 381in reply to: Adjust Balance (reconcile) #3971Interesting – I haven’t heard of anyone using CalendarBudget like this… not exactly as intended, but I understand your use case.
We were going to add the ability to just add an adjustment entry for people who simply haven’t reconciled in weeks and can’t be bothered to update the details for such a long time. As I said – it’s not ideal, but, I suppose if people want to be disciplined they will be and if not, maybe it’s not CalendarBudget’s place to force that.
Thanks for persisting with your explanation – I think we will add this afterall.

This one is definitely on the to-do list :)Eric Poulin

A few thoughts. CalendarBudget is designed to track all ape ding and auto-calculate balances based on the entries. What you’re suggesting – just updating the account balance – while convenient, results in you, the end user, becoming a little lax in your financial accountability. CalendarBudget would have to create an “adjustment entry” for the difference between the plan and the actual account balance – but where did that money really go? You can categorize it properly or track you money properly. You’ll be left with a bunch of adjustments that do t help you k ow where your money went. For this reason, I am reluctant to add this feature… Once there, it’s too easy to get lazy and abuse it.
Does that help at all?
Is there a reason you don’t use the bank import feature?Eric Poulin
KeymasterApril 26, 2013 at 6:54 amPost count: 381We have considered this. We know the all accounts total is not correct in a multi-currency scenario. We don’t show a currency symbol on All Accounts, but the total is definitely wrong.
The problem with trying to do currency conversion is… the conversion rates change each day, so looking at a calendar would we use the currency conversion as it is TODAY or should we somehow try to cache the values… then we are storing currency conversion rates for every date, which is crazy. We thought about just using todays rate on all instances… since it would only affect the All Accounts tab but it just never got prioritized in our development efforts. -
