But, you want them to be able to span more than a calendar month like they currently do. We are planning an upgrade to our main browser tool early 2019 which will include performance enhancements along with many new features such as a major upgrade of categories, including the ability to have category budget's carry forward (envelope budgeting).Eric Poulin

We've been entirely focused on the mobile app recently, but as soon as that is done a MAJOR rewrite of the browser version is queued up to improve performance and add a bunch of new features such as this. We anticipate getting started with that in Jan, possibly earlier.Eric Poulin

Go ahead and create the first entry for the full amount. Categorize it however you label the entry. Then right click on the entry and there will be an option to split transaction. This will allow you to designate how much of the transaction goes to the new category and new label.Eric Poulin

The important never take longer than one minute so it sounds like some problem happened. I just updated the code for Bank in Port yesterday since a few Banks such as Wells Fargo updated their format unexpectedly and I had to adjust for that change. I retested all of the files that I have and they all seemed to work but if yours is having a problem importing, the best thing to do is send me a copy so I can test it. You can send it to epoulin@calendarbudget.com. don't worry, there's nothing in this file that allows me to connect to your bank.

Please check under Settings -> Account Setup for the currency symbol for your account and then check Settings -> Category Setup that the currency symbol matches. When you are creating/editing entries for an account, the only categories that show up are those with the same currency symbol (so you're not accidentally mixing currencies from the same category.

KeymasterJuly 23, 2018 at 5:26 pmPost count: 381in reply to: copy/duplicate entry #4140Yup – we added that to our to-do list about 2 weeks ago. Currently we are 100% focused on the mobile app, so once that is completed, we'll come back and address a few browser requests.

KeymasterJuly 14, 2018 at 5:22 amPost count: 381in reply to: Problem with Category Highlighting #4133Yes, you've got it. Since unassigned is not really a real category, we don't track that you've selected it. We can fix this, we'll work on that once our mobile app is completed.

KeymasterJuly 4, 2018 at 1:45 pmPost count: 381in reply to: Duplicate (copy) an entry #4137You're right. At the moment there is no quick way to duplicate an existing entry. I like this idea and it should be fairly straightforward to add to that context menu. I'm adding it to our to-do list for after the mobile app is completed.

KeymasterJune 25, 2018 at 2:09 amPost count: 381in reply to: Finding trasaction in busy month #4135Yes, on the desktop browser version you'll notice there are small plus and minus Circle buttons on the left hand side of every week. If you click the plus sign on the week you are interested in focusing on the vertical space for the entire month will be taken up by that week so you can have better visibility on transactions where you have many many in one day.

At the moment, you can toggle the highlight of categories, but changing an entry from one category to another is done in the edit dialog for that entry.Eric Poulin
KeymasterJune 5, 2018 at 3:36 amPost count: 381Ya, I agree with you. The details get a little complex but I think we can work it out. Again – this would fall under enhancements to the updated browser version coming later this year.
