Is the direct bank linking still in the works? I can only get CSVs from my Credit Union. They claim MS Money and Quicken can connect directly. Is this along the lines for what you have planned?

ObelixParticipantNovember 11, 2009 at 9:59 pmPost count: 48in reply to: New Reports #3616I guess I was kind of thinking of large monthly recuring expenses/income like monthly payday, or mortgage. I was also assuming (dangerous, I know) that it would be a month long report but essentially starting on the date of the recuring expense. Then showing forward it would simply roll over on that date instead of the first of the month. Not sure how that would really be useful tho now that I think about it. Most bills are monthly not weekly as you said.
ObelixParticipantNovember 5, 2009 at 3:09 pmPost count: 48in reply to: view my budget on google calendar #3803What about allowing you to set up an “alert” as part of an entry that could be passed to GCalendar? That alert could include a link back to CalBudget and a description. It wouldn’t be intended to display the current balance, but rather serve as a reminder that certain bills/income are due soon. It would bring people back here regularly to deal with the events regularly. it would be really cool to be able to log in directly(no email/passwd, just straight to the calbudget page) from the event link, but I’m not sure if that can be secured well. maybe just password? And this should be a paid version only option.
*edit:add paid version only*
ObelixParticipantNovember 5, 2009 at 2:58 pmPost count: 48in reply to: New Reports #3614Why not start simple and use a radio button option to select 1)start/end date or 2)recurring payment/income timeframe.
start/end date options are obvious. Recurring payment/income shows a list of recurring payments that are in play(I assume you can show just those). User selects one of those to chart within. Once they have selected which one, they are given a drop list of cycle dates to use as the start date. Then you add a field for number of cycles to show.

It you would have to store lots of different documents of various sizes. Plus this actually goes against your desire to not have truely identifying data on the site. if you have someone post up images of their mortgage or check images, all those could be expoitable if they were illegally accessed. I think if users want to store paper items they deem as valuable, they should get a safety deposit box to store the original.

ObelixParticipantJanuary 12, 2009 at 4:55 pmPost count: 48in reply to: Future Feature List #3547Hmm I like that idea. Either that or lightly shading the background of those days in the green and red.
ObelixParticipantJanuary 12, 2009 at 4:37 pmPost count: 48in reply to: Tutorials Requests #3682How about making one for power users hitting some of the non-obvious features. Although I have to say, most of your features are fairly obvious and easily noticed. The one thing that came to mind was dragging an entry to a different date. Maybe you could work that into one of the basic ones about editing an entry.
ObelixParticipantJanuary 10, 2009 at 11:52 pmPost count: 48in reply to: New Reports #3610You did that (and very nicely too), but the original suggestion is still not implemented. There is no way to graphically see your budget forecast out over the next year. All that is available is looking back at the last 6 months. It seems like it shouldn’t be too much trouble to take the 6 months plot and push it out forward instead of backwards. What I’d rather see, tho, is just my daily totals from each account pushed forward 6 months or a year. You could take the 6 month plot, push it forward, and simply use the accounts as the checkbox categories. You’d have to allow for negative values tho since the current plot looks like it is grounded at $0.
ObelixParticipantJanuary 10, 2009 at 11:37 pmPost count: 48in reply to: Rearranging Account Order #3600That would work, but may not be as intuitive as dragable tabs.
