KeymasterAugust 20, 2010 at 4:10 pmPost count: 381in reply to: iPhone App? #3783It will – hopefully soon!
I had originally planned it for October – but it may get pushed to November.
Initially, I’ll release a web app that will work on any mobile device – then look at an iPhone specific app.Eric Poulin
KeymasterAugust 20, 2010 at 4:07 pmPost count: 381in reply to: view my budget on google calendar #3806I still think this is a great idea and thanks for bringing it up again.
I’m planning some new feature work over the next 3-4 weeks. I’d like to get this in then.Eric Poulin

With this fix, it should not be a problem again.Eric Poulin

We’re planning to add a “What-if scenario” feature which will do exactly what you’re suggesting – copy an account for you to play with things without messing up your real account. Look for this to be added over the next month or 2.

KeymasterJuly 20, 2010 at 6:18 amPost count: 381There are many things you can get for free through http://freecycle.org. Check there.
Otherwise, you can get a pretty good volume of things from the dollar store.
In the past, I’ve made some homemade games for my kids which they still use. Gather some materials from home and spend some time making gifts. I’ve made:
-Towers of Hanoi
– A do-it-yourself birdhouse kit with spare wood/nails. (maybe an 8-year old will just like being creative and hammering random piece of wood scraps together which you can call an art-project — then proudly display the finished masterpiece in his room.
– A book on origamy and a supply of paper – can be hours of fun. Get the from second hand book store – or even find a free web site with instructions and just supply the paper.
– Go to your local big box store and ask for big boxes… and use the boxes with a bunch of tape – he can create a fort/structure with the boxes. Don’t kids end up liking the packaging as much as the gift anyway :)I’m in the final stages of writing a book called Power Spending: Getting More for Less. This book has TONS of ideas on how to save money, including on gift giving. When its ready I’ll announce it. The book will be inexpensive and will end up saving you lots of money.

KeymasterJuly 6, 2010 at 11:05 pmPost count: 381in reply to: [Bug] Mouse position in Chrome #3867Ahh. You’re 2 steps ahead of the main version :)
We support the Chrome main version and beta, but not the dev version. The dev version is still changing and thus we cannot adjust to each build. Unfortunately, if you need to continue with the dev version you’re bound to run into problems on any complicated site. CalendarBudget should work well in the main and beta versions – I encourage you to switch back to the beta version.Eric Poulin
KeymasterJuly 6, 2010 at 5:44 amPost count: 381in reply to: [Bug] Mouse position in Chrome #3865As it turns out, I can’t reproduce it. Could you tell me the version of Chrome and Windows you are using so I can try to duplicate your environment here?

KeymasterJuly 6, 2010 at 5:28 amPost count: 381in reply to: [Bug] Mouse position in Chrome #3864Thanks, now I understand. Yes, it sounds like the custom mouse pouters are causing problems. I’ll take a look and try to duplicate the problem on my test machines. As soon as I can duplicate the problem, I can create a fix.

KeymasterJuly 5, 2010 at 10:53 pmPost count: 381in reply to: [Bug] Mouse position in Chrome #3862I see this happening on the bottom row in the calendar in Chrome. Is it happening for you elsewhere?
A screenshot would be helpful. Simplest way to do that is hit the “Prnt Scrn” button on your keyboard when the problem is on screen, then open Windows Paint and press Ctrl-V (paste). Then save and send to me.Eric Poulin
KeymasterJuly 5, 2010 at 10:46 pmPost count: 381in reply to: iPhone App? #3781Thanks for the comment. Our intention is to make the iPhone/iPad app available for free. On the iPad, we may be able to keep the calendar interface. In fact, on the iPad – people can just use Safari to go to the main home page and use the regular web site.
The iPhone however, is too small to use our regular interface. Unfortunately we’ll need to consider a different interface to make it work, but it will still be calendar-based somehow. I envision something similar to the built-in calendar app, with the individual entry data showing the amounts.
We are really anxious to get to the development of this piece – its just a matter of time. :)Eric Poulin
KeymasterMay 25, 2010 at 8:26 pmPost count: 381in reply to: iPhone App? #3779Whoa, you’ve really been thinking about this :)
Looks like I have reference documentation right here. I’m hoping to get started on this in June/July. I’ll develop it as a mobile web app and then possible convert it to a native iPhone app (so it should work everywhere…. even on my WII!)
If anyone is really anxious and wants to create a visual mockup of what the app will look like – I’d be much obliged. Otherwise I’ll get working on that as a 1st step once my development schedule gets to this.Eric Poulin
KeymasterMay 10, 2010 at 4:53 pmPost count: 381in reply to: Bank reconciling #3844Still in the works. We had originally planned to try for implementation late this summer – however, it depends on a number of business factors since that service is VERY expensive for us to offer.
Alternatively – we could support CSV import. If you don’t mind sending me your CSV file, I should be able to add that as an import option in a relatively short period of time. I just need to make sure that your bank’s CSV format is consistent with others. I can at least compare yours with mine and if they are the same, it should be pretty straight forward.Eric Poulin
KeymasterMay 6, 2010 at 10:01 pmPost count: 381in reply to: Text Alerts #3859I’d love to experiment with it, yes.
If you give me your SMS number, I’ll give it a try. (most carriers have an email way to send text messages – something like send an email to 9054344343@rogers.com and when Rogers receives the message they send the text. Does your carrier have such a service?
I’ve looked into text gateways before – they are VERY expensive, but this email solution seems like an easy solution. -
