Eric blogged about reducing your entertainment expenses by getting movies for free from the Library. In the past, because of a bad habit I had, the movies weren’t free. I would get distracted with life and miss returning the movies on time and would end up paying $1 per day per movie that wasn’t returned on time. When that started happening I stopped getting movies from the library until I was sure I would return the movies and books on time.
I have resumed getting movies and books and have found the best way to keep ahead of schedule is to put it on my electronic calendar with reminders given the day before due date. So we’ve been able to enjoy some fun, educational movies and books again.
There are other habbits I need to set in place better to help increase my savings, such as listed:
- create a menu and stick to it more and take food out of freezer early to be defrosted on time
- plan easy menu meals that are quick and healthy for highly busy days
- maintain the habbit of lumping outings together, like getting gas for vehicle, groceries, library run, and other
What are some habbits you’ve had to create and enforce to help save on your finances?
