There’s a long list of daily household chores that usually requires more time than we have to dedicate to them. I’ve debated for a long time if it’s worth my money to hire someone for the different chores. The hugest chores for me are trying to keep up with the laundry for seven people, and trying to prepare healthy meals while catering to the seven different people’s eating likes/dislikes.

It has become an internal debate for me, because I’d feel guilty for More…

On occasion I’ve lent a few dollars to different friends. At one point before I got married, one of my friends and myself had low incomes and would bail each other out when money got a little tight for the small expenses we had in our lives at that time. We had an open understanding that we would not leave the debt unpaid to each other.

It can be very stressful on a relationship to lend money. Make sure all details are clear for both parties when lending the money. How much is being lent, on what day, the day it is due again, is it a straight lump sum payback or periodic small payments, will interest be charged or just the original amount paid back, what will happen if the money is not paid back on the day agreed upon.

When I am asked to lend money to a friend, I More…

I find it annoying to have to pay for the grocery bag after I’ve just spent a large sum on the groceries already. This is a pet peeve I’ve learned to deal with or find a way around.

It has saved us a great deal of strain and stress that comes from having piles of debt. We highly recommend this rule to be top your purchasing guidelines.

What is debt consolidation? When you get a loan to pay off all other debts (eg. a number of visa/credit cards, student loans, overdraft, etc). In doing this, you are hoping to avoid the higher interest rates, get a smaller total monthly payment and have just one payment to make each month.

Here is a video clip from CBS News that I watched about the high level of consumer debt.  It is concerning the debt path that a great number of consumers are going down.  You start to feel overwhelmed, trapped, and the longer the debt is there the greater the feelings are. More…

I’ve been reading the book The 4 Hour Workweek. Aside from some unneeded expletives, the ideas in the book so far are great. One example given is similar to the following:

If you were presented with the following 2 jobs, which would you choose?

Job 1: A lawyer earning $160,000/year working 80 hours/week.

Job 2: You are an entrepreneur making $80,000/year working an average of 15 hours/week. More…

Working 70 hours a week for a long time will put a large amount of stress on your body and so you may end up spending all those extra savings on the health care now needed. More…
